Helped Others Too
In addition to the main business of home inspections, other clients have taken advantage of what I have to offer. I’ve worked for NORR Architects and Engineers, the Co-operative Housing Federation of Eastern Ontario, the Ottawa Board of Education, and the National Capital Commission.
I’ve also been hired by various condominium corporations to help with their asset strategy. My reports were used to rank the replacement priority of the doors and windows in their asset management plans.
I’ve inspected homes for various non profits, co-operatives and assisted living agencies throughout the greater Ottawa area. Some of my clients include Crichton Cultural Community Centre, Ottawa-Carleton Lifeskills Inc., Ottawa Salus Community Mental Health Agency, Abiwin Co-operative, Westboro Co-operative, St. Georges Co-operative, Carpenter Co-operative and Carillon Co-operative. In some cases, I inspected individual houses that were being purchased. Here my report provides an important and valuable resource to help in the buying decision.
I’ve investigated specific problems such as mould or flooding. As housing stock ages, it is often necessary to look at the root causes of issues before calling in a contractor. I carefully and clearly explain the situation and write detailed and easy to understand reports that can assist owners and board members in the decision making process. This is of significant benefit when assessing the need for repair. The allocation of funds is always a concern and I can help with the budgeting process. Finally, in legal disputes, I can objectively evaluate a repair or renovation project and fairly assign areas of responsibility.
